PTCC 2024 Key Notes

Here is a brief summary of the key points to come out of the 2024 AGM

Poole Park pavillion and pitch ownership.

As many of you are aware the council is potentially looking to hand over ownership of the pavillion and potentially also the pitch to PTCC. This transfer of ownership comes complete with numerous possibilities and pitfalls and the committee is working hard on putting together a proposal that will help secure the long term future of the club and cricket in Poole Park. The committee stress that this process is in no way a closed shop and welcome any and all support from club members to help navigate this fairly complex process. If you think you can assist or even if you know someone with the relevant skills and knowledge, please get in touch.

Weekly Nets

Winter nets are being held weekly at Poole Grammar School's excellent new sports hall. These are usually on Tuesday nights though occasionally on a Thursday. Check Teamo for the exact day and time. All adult (and juniors able to play adult cricket) members are welcome to come and get sharp for the 2024 season. From Mid-April nets will move outside at the same venue as we have access to PGS' brand new outdoor nets.

Socials

A new social subgroup, helmed by Kelly Reed and Caroline Boyd, is now in operation. We look forward to plenty more opportunities for fun evenings and events over the season. If you have any ideas for something that'll bring the club together, feel free to get in touch

250 Club

If you aren't already a member of the 250 club it's a great way to help support PTCC and comes with a chance of a big windfall too! For as little as £1 a month you could win big cash prizes. All profit from the £250 club goes straight back into PTCC in order to pay for everything from balls to BBQ's

New Officers

A big thanks to our new officers who were elected at the AGM and also those who were subsequently confirmed. Caroline Boyd and Kelly Reed are our new Social Secretarys with Caroline also stepping into the role of Safeguarding Officer. James Young is the new Sponsorship Secretary and Julian Boyd our new Kit Secretary. Finally, Michelle Keohan is our new Womans and Girls Officer. Thanks to Jordan Down, Craig Rochford, Lizzie Williams and Teresa Heckford for their work for the club in the roles that they performed.

Pre-Season Friendlies

On 20th April we have friendlies arranged against Ferndown for our 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs. Additionally our traditional post-season friendly against Swanage is pencilled in for 15th September.
